Upper Walnut Creek Sanitary Sewer Improvements
The Upper Walnut Creek Sanitary Sewer Improvement project involved the replacement, realignment, and upsizing of an existing 42-inch RCP gravity sewer system to a 60-inch fiberglass reinforced pipe (FRP) system. The scope of work included the installation of 9,203 linear feet of 60-inch FRP, 9,136 linear feet of 60-inch reinforced concrete pipe liner with FRP, 60 polymer concrete manholes, and 11,579 linear feet of 8-inch and 12-inch gravity sewer with 91 manholes. Additionally, 5,943 linear feet of 6-inch and 8-inch waterline were also installed.
The project featured several specialized components, such as multiple 8’x8’ junction boxes with slide gates, 287 linear feet of 60-inch micro-tunneling, bypassing of the existing 42-inch RCP and 48-inch gravity sewer, and the abandonment of 18,000 linear feet of the old 42-inch gravity sewer. Park Construction successfully completed the project ahead of schedule and under budget, demonstrating exceptional efficiency and project management.
